Products (Co.) - Online Piping & Valve

The contents of POPV are material specifications for piping systems and valves. POPV was the online version of ARCO Standards 205 and 205V. Initially developed by ARCO's IT Group in Los Angeles circa 1990's, the designation followed their standard practice of referring to projects by operating company ("Products Co.", hence the first letter 'P'), followed by initials chosen for designation of the type of application ('OPV' for "Online Piping and Valve.") Therefore, 'POPV' stands for "Products - Online Piping and Valve." The designation was retained for its production version and is still commonly used at Heritage ARCO sites Carson and Cherry Point.
