hysim meaning in oil and gas

HYSIM is a process simulation package developed by Hyprotech (now part of AEA Technology) which was commonly used by process engineers and others in the early to mid-nineties to model plant / processes e.g. Forties A topsides process. It has now been effectively superceded by a new Windows-based package called HYSYS, also from Hyprotech.
