Equivalent Distillation Capacity
A device used in Refinery Comparative analysis by Solomon Associates to standardise the way refineries are ranked; a single value which combines both size and complexity of the refinery. It uses the unit capacity and multiplies by a complexity value to arrive at the EDC for each operating unit. These values are added together to give a refinery EDC.
