Ductility Level Event
The offshore facilities will be located within a zone of seismic activity. The HSE Standards (Section 17.0) define seismic design objectives. Design criteria have been developed from these (see Seismic Design Review document Ref. 15). Two design cases are addressed, these are: Strength Level Event (SLE), defined as a 500 year return earthquake Ductility Level Event (DLE), defined as a 3000 year return earthquake. SLE requirements are identified for structures and all equipment. DLE requirements are identified for structures and safety critical functions.
