AFC meaning in oil and gas

Used at ARCO, AFC approval was required to internally sanction work. For example on a partner operated field the operator would issue an AFE relating to specific work - at a certain level of expenditure asset managers were required to raise an AFC to cover the spend before approval could be given to partners.
